Introduction to BOPP Film

Aluminized films were produced by depositing aluminum onto biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) base films. The causes of haze in these aluminized films were investigated using techniques such as TG, DSC, and WLI. Experimental results indicate that during the aluminization process, aluminum atoms form a uniform coating on the BOPP surface, essentially replicating the surface morphology of the base film.

High crystallinity and well-developed crystal structures in the BOPP material contribute to haze formation in the aluminized film. Additionally, high concentrations, large particle sizes, and poor dispersion of additives within the film exacerbate surface defects on the BOPP base film, further leading to haze in the aluminized product.
