The Nature of Polyethylene Film
Polyethylene film is indeed a type of plastic film-just as naturally as a watermelon is classified as a fruit. Made from the polymer polyethylene (PE), it is lightweight, flexible, and water-resistant. Common examples include supermarket shopping bags, plastic food wrap, and agricultural greenhouse films; it has quietly permeated every corner of our daily lives.
Other Members of the Plastic Film Family
Beyond polyethylene film, there are several other "siblings" in the plastic film family:
Polypropylene (PP) film: Offers superior heat resistance and is commonly used for microwave-safe food wrap.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film: Features high transparency and is frequently used for product packaging.
Polyester (PET) film: Boasts excellent strength and is the material used for beverage bottle labels.
Although their materials differ, they all belong to the same plastic film family.
