Applications of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) Film

Widely used in the packaging of foods, confectionery, cigarettes, tea, fruit juices, milk, textiles, and more, BOPP film has earned the title "Queen of Packaging." Its broad range of applications, low pollution profile, and contribution to forest conservation make it a more popular packaging material than paper or PVC; meanwhile, its simple, reliable manufacturing process and reasonable cost make it more widely used than biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) or biaxially oriented nylon (BOPA) films.

BOPP film can be laminated with other materials possessing specialized properties to further enhance or improve performance; commonly used materials include PE film, cast polypropylene (CPP) film, polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), and aluminum film.
