Introduction to Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) Film

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film is typically a multi-layer co-extruded film produced by first co-extruding polypropylene granules into a sheet and then stretching it in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.

Due to molecular orientation resulting from the stretching process, the film exhibits excellent physical stability, mechanical strength, and gas barrier properties, as well as high transparency and gloss; it is also tough and wear-resistant. Widely used for printing applications, it generally ranges in thickness from 20 to 40 μm, with the 20 μm specification being the most common.
