Regulations concerning cast polypropylene (CPP) film

Cast polypropylene (CPP) film products must comply with the national standard GB/T 27740-2011, *Cast Polypropylene (CPP) Film*. This is a currently effective recommended national standard; it was issued on December 30, 2011, and implemented on July 1, 2012. The standard adopts the international standard ISO 17557:2003 with modifications and is administered by the China National Light Industry Council. Key drafting organizations include Foshan Plastics Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Dadongnan Packaging Co., Ltd., and the Institute of Plastics Processing and Application of Light Industry.

As a food-contact material, CPP film must also meet the requirements of relevant hygiene and safety standards, such as GB 4806.7, *National Food Safety Standard – Plastic Materials and Articles for Food Contact*.

This standard serves as a key basis for product quality supervision and spot checks; for instance, in municipal-level spot checks of plastic packaging for food (excluding composite films and bags), relevant parameters of CPP films are tested in accordance with GB/T 27740-2011.
