Biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film can be slit into various widths according to customer requirements, with common widths ranging from 20 mm to 2,000 mm. All production processes for specialized types, such as blue BOPET protective film, are carried out in cleanrooms to ensure cleanliness.
The primary product standard for packaging-grade BOPET film is GB/T 16958-2008, *Biaxially Oriented Polyester Film for Packaging*, which is administered by the National Technical Committee on Packaging Standardization. GB/T 16958-2008 superseded GB/T 16958-1997; the latter was issued on August 26, 1997, implemented on February 1, 1998, and withdrawn on January 1, 2009.
The *Catalogue for Guiding Industrial Structure Adjustment (2024 Edition)* lists "functional polyester (PET) film" as an encouraged industry.
